Description:

The model defines the geometry of the major bridge. 


Usage:

The model is used to ensure the clearance for free passage both on top and under the bridge, as well as clearance for assets inside the major bridge.

The model is used to build the bridge.


Content:

3D model which contains the external geometry for major structures as well as modelled elements regarding installations such as lines, surfaces or objects.

It shall be possible to handle the model for a computer with ordinary specifications. It shall be possible to switch off layers with many details,
which may cause an impediment when rotating and checking the model.

The 3D model may either be submitted as a total model or, as a number of sections of the model which may be inserted as references in the shared model.

The 3D model shall, as a minimum, be divided into components in accordance with DANBRO+ List of Elements on level 4, standard structures, as indicated in DANBRO+ (www.danbroplus.dk). 


Components to be named and numbered in accordance with "Operation & Maintenance Manual".

The above mentioned standard elements shall be named as described and, any sub-components shall be unambiguously marked, thus ensuring that each element and each sub-component can be identified unambiguously within the model.

Coherence between databases for ‘Operation and Maintenance’ and 3D model

The 3D model for the major structures shall be divided into model elements and named in such a way that the standard elements, in the database ‘Operation and Maintenance’, can be attached to a corresponding model element in the 3D model, cf. the description in ICT for the tender.

Level of detailing for 3D models

Elements of a diameter less than 50mm should not be modelled, unless essential to the scrutiny of the structure.


‘As built’ 3D model:

The ‘as built’ model shall be modelled to Level of Information 4, meaning that all elements shall be modelled as physical realisable solutions.

The model shall be unequivocally detailed so that it may form the basis for “Operation and Maintenance”.


Working models and project models:

Working models and project models shall be submitted in the degree of detailing suitable for the stage.

The project model to be scrutinised shall, as a minimum, contain a – geometrically correct – 3D model of the entire construction structure, where the main geometry should be modelled – theoretically correct – for each sub-component.

Concerning the reinforcement, the contractor shall, as a minimum, display examples in 3D for selected components such as:

Typical viaduct span:

  • Transverse bulkhead above pier (including anchorage of prestressing and local reinforcement above bearings)
  • Transverse bulkhead at expansion joints (anchorage of buffers and tie-down cables)
  • "Deviator" for external prestressing within the bridge casing
  • Pier cap including bearing plinth
  • Anchorage of transverse prestressing in edge beams

Cable-stayed bridge:

  • Monolithic connection between pylon and girder
  • Cable anchorage in pylon
  • Cable anchorage in girders
  • Transverse bulkhead above anchor pier by a cable-stayed bridge

Concerning means of access, the following clearance conditions shall be modelled in order to ensure sufficient space for access and any transport of objects/material

Abutments:

  • Access to pier cap with bearing as well as the interior of a typical pier
  • Access to pier cap with bearing as well as the interior of anchor pier
  • Access to pier cap with bearing as well as the bottom of expansion joint
  • Access to buffers
  • Access to tie-down anchors in piers
  • Access to tie-down anchors in bridge girders
  • Access to anchorage of cable-stay in upper part of pylon
  • Access to interior of lower part of pylon
  • Passage in bridge girders at the pylon
  • Lift

Construction Drawings:

Excavation and backfilling, waterproofing, bridge surfacing.

Updating frequency:

Preliminary 3D models shall continuously be submitted to the employer. Furthermore, the completed 3D models shall be available in an updated version at each supply of Project Documents for the employer.

At project initiation a timetable shall be prepared for when to submit 3D models. The timetable is to be prepared in collaboration with the employer and shall be approved by the employer.

Following the employer’s approval of the Project Documents, the agreed changes shall be implemented into the models.
When the contract terminates ‘As built’ 3D models shall be available for the structure.​​​​
